User Roles Overview

An explanation of the user role options in Rinsed.

Adding users to your account allows you to designate separate login credentials and access permissions for each user. This article provides an overview of each built-in user role.

Rinsed uses a combination of roles and permissions. The combination of roles and permissions dictate access to the platform.

Please Note: Both roles & permissions must be assigned to users for proper access. If a role is not assigned without a location permission or vice versa, the app will be blank.

There are 4 main roles: Admin, Marketer, Agent, and Analytics. The table shows what each role can access within the app:

Please Note: Anyone with agent or admin status will receive ticket open/incomplete email notifications. Anyone with a marketer or admin role will receive voucher email notifications. You can change your email notification preferences when creating a user.

Permissions are based on Locations.

All Location Groups:

  • Allows users to see all data across all locations

Locations:

• Assigning a specific location limits the data to that location only.

How to add Users:

1. Click the Settings cog on the left hand Menu and click Users

2. Select ‘New User’ in the upper right hand corner.

3. Enter Email, First name, and Roles in the field and click ‘Create User’

Both Role and Locations must be assigned to users for proper access. If a role is not assigned without a location permission or vice versa, the application will be blank. You can also customize email notifications at this step before creating the user.

An invite email will be sent to the email entered in a few minutes. If they have not received it, please check the Spam folder.

Please Note: You can assign multiple roles to a user if you want them to have access to various parts of Rinsed. For example: you can assign the "agent" and "analytics" role to a user if you want them to have access to the tickets and analytics tabs.

You are responsible for ensuring that the correct personnel at your organization have appropriate access to data within the Rinsed platform. They should only be able to view and edit the data necessary to meet the requirements of their specific roles at your company.

We encourage you to take a conservative, least-privilege approach to assigning user permissions. We also encourage you to periodically review the list of users in your account and the permissions you've assigned to each.
