Wifi Connectivity Testing

Learn how to troubleshoot common WiFi connectivity issues on your Salespath tablet.

Before getting started with Salespath, it's important to ensure that you have strong wifi connectivity at your selling area.

In order to find that out, first test the signal strength. You can download a free app like this one from the Apple store or this one from the Google Play store.

Once you download it, make sure you are connected to the wifi network and then run a test while standing near the pay stations. Take and send us a screenshot from one of these apps.

During the test, your device downloads sample files and records speeds. The test measures how fast data moves between your device and the network, and the amount of time it takes is called ping time. The lower the ping, the faster the response from the connection. Ideally, we're looking for a ping time of below 10 milliseconds.

The test also downloads and uploads another packet of data. How quickly your internet connection transfers that data determines your download and upload speed. Download and upload speed is measured in Mbps, or megabits per second. We're looking for a reading of 40-100mbps.

If when you do your test, you find that your ping and upload/download speed numbers are below the numbers listed above, we recommend installing an outdoor access point. For more information on this, please see page 3 of the onboarding document.
