A step by step guide on how to include vouchers in messages in Rinsed
To add voucher codes to a text message:
- Open the campaign message, scheduled message, or contact form confirmation text message in Rinsed.
- Type the @ symbol to pull up a list of dynamic fields. Type "Voucher" to search for your voucher codes.
- Select the voucher type you'd like to include. This will populate a unique code from your voucher type in the body of each text message you send.
- To include a scannable barcode version of the voucher: scroll to Attached voucher image and select the correct voucher type.
- Make sure to save changes.
- We recommend sending yourself a test message (using the Send Test button) and scanning the voucher code at your site to ensure it is functioning as expected.
To add voucher codes to an email:
- Open the campaign message, scheduled message, or contact form confirmation email in Rinsed.
- Drag the text component into the email body to start composing your message.
- Click Merge Tags then select the desired voucher code type from the list.
- To add a scannable barcode version of the voucher: Drag the Voucher Code element into the email body.
- Click the barcode, then select the correct voucher type on the right hand side. This ensures that Rinsed is generating a barcode for the correct type of voucher.
- Make sure to save changes.
- We recommend sending yourself a test message (using the Sent Test button) and scanning the voucher code at your site to ensure it is functioning as expected.
Vouchers FAQ
Q: If a voucher code is included in both an email and a text message to the same customer, will the customer receive two different codes?
A: Yes, the customer will receive two unique codes. For this reason, we suggest sending vouchers via either text or email for a given campaign/contact form, to avoid sending multiple vouchers per customer.
Q: What happens if there are more members of an audience than available vouchers? Will Rinsed still send texts/emails to those people, even if we don't have a voucher code for them?
A: No, if there are not enough vouchers, Rinsed will not send the text/email. If you add more voucher codes to that particular voucher type, Rinsed will backfill and send out all of the unsent messages.
Q: If you use the Send Test functionality to send a test text/email that contains a voucher code, will it be a real/functioning voucher code?
A: Yes.
